Audit firms in Abu Dhabi: ADGM, ICV and how to choose

Audit firms in Abu Dhabi work with two features Dubai does not have - ADGM and ICV - and they matter more to your choice than any ranking. Including where we do not fit.

Search for audit firms in Abu Dhabi and you will find lists written by firms who put themselves at number one. This is not one of those. Abu Dhabi has two features Dubai does not — ADGM and ICV — and they matter more to your choice than any ranking.

What makes audit firms in Abu Dhabi different

ADGM is a separate legal framework

Abu Dhabi Global Market operates under common law with its own regulator, the FSRA. Firms auditing FSRA-regulated entities need the appropriate standing with that regulator — and a firm registered with the DFSA in DIFC is not automatically acceptable in ADGM. The two regimes are separate. See DIFC and ADGM compared.

ICV changes what your audit is for

If you tender to ADNOC or Abu Dhabi government buyers, your In-Country Value certificate influences whether you win. And the ICV score is calculated from your audited financial statements by a certifying body.

This is the point most Abu Dhabi businesses discover too late. Your audit is not just a compliance filing — it is the input to a score that decides tender outcomes. Cost classification that looks immaterial in the accounts can move your ICV percentage, and by then the accounts are signed.

An auditor who does not understand ICV will produce a perfectly correct set of accounts that scores worse than it needed to. Ask about this specifically — see how the ICV score is calculated.

Five questions for an Abu Dhabi audit firm

  1. Ministry of Economy registration — the baseline, verifiable.
  2. ADGM standing, if you are an ADGM entity, and FSRA standing if regulated. Do not assume DIFC registration transfers.
  3. ICV understanding, if you tender. Ask how they would approach the classification decisions that affect your score.
  4. Free zone acceptance for your specific zone — Masdar, KIZAD, ADAFZ each have their own position.
  5. Whether a partner reads your file. Same question as anywhere, still the most useful one.

Where AONE BIZ fits, honestly

We are a Dubai-based chartered practice serving Abu Dhabi businesses. We do not maintain an Abu Dhabi office, and we would rather say that plainly than imply otherwise.

For most audit and tax work that makes no practical difference — the engagement runs on records, not proximity, and we handle ADGM entities, Abu Dhabi mainland and the free zones including Masdar City. We do ICV work and understand how the audit feeds the score.

If you specifically want an auditor you can walk to, appoint an Abu Dhabi firm — and ask them the five questions above. See how we serve Abu Dhabi clients.

Frequently asked questions

Who are the top audit firms in Abu Dhabi?

It depends on your entity type. Big Four lead for government-linked and regulated entities; local practices suit businesses wanting proximity; Dubai firms serve many Abu Dhabi SMEs. A single ranking across all of them is not meaningful.

Does an ADGM company need a special auditor?

FSRA-regulated entities do. Non-regulated ADGM entities need an auditor acceptable under the ADGM framework. DIFC registration does not transfer.

How does the audit affect my ICV score?

The score is calculated from your audited financial statements, so cost classification and presentation decisions taken during the audit affect the result.

Do I need an auditor with an Abu Dhabi office?

Rarely for the audit itself, which runs on records. It matters if you want in-person availability or have local relationship requirements.

Are Abu Dhabi audit fees different from Dubai?

Broadly comparable. Fees are driven by the state of your records far more than by emirate.

Do you have an Abu Dhabi office?

No. We serve Abu Dhabi clients from Dubai and say so rather than implying a presence we do not have.

Can you handle ADGM entities?

Non-regulated ADGM entities, yes. If you are FSRA-regulated, tell us your licence category and we will confirm scope honestly before quoting.
